Introduction

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and tracking pixels) that Xavarro uses on xavarro.com, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how you can change what you allow. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes our data practices more broadly.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others are optional and only run if you allow them. Our mobile application does not use cookies.

How Consent Works on This Site

What we ask of you depends on where you are visiting from, because different places have different privacy laws:

Opt-in regions. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Quebec – or if we cannot determine your location – all optional cookies are off by default. Nothing optional runs until you make a choice, and rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting.
Notice regions. If you are visiting from elsewhere in Canada or from the United States, optional cookies are on by default and we show you a notice explaining that, with a direct route to turn anything off.

Your choice is stored on your device for up to 180 days, after which we ask again. If the rules we apply change in a way that affects your choice, we also ask again rather than assuming your old answer still stands. You can change your mind at any time:

The Categories You Can Control

The choices we offer match the categories below, exactly as they appear in the privacy preferences dialog:

Strictly necessary (always on)

Keeps you signed in, remembers your settings – including your cookie choices themselves – and protects the site from abuse. The site doesn't work without these, so they cannot be turned off.

Analytics

Tells us which pages people visit and where they run into trouble, so we can fix what isn't working. We see patterns, not individuals.

Advertising measurement

Tells us which ad brought you here, so we know whether our advertising is worth what we spend on it. It doesn't change which ads you see.

Advertising personalization

Lets us show you our ads again on other websites after you leave, and tailor what those ads say. This category requires advertising measurement to be allowed, because it cannot function without it.

The Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary

xv_consent_regime (Xavarro) – records which consent model applies to your visit, based on your general location. Lasts for your browsing session.
xv_consent (Xavarro) – records the cookie choices you have made, so we can honour them on every page and every return visit. Lasts up to 180 days.
sb-* (Supabase) – authentication cookies that keep you signed in to your account, where you have one. Maintained for the duration of your signed-in session and refreshed while you remain active.

Analytics (only if you allow it)

_ga (Google Analytics) – distinguishes one visitor from another so that visits and behaviour can be counted accurately. Lasts up to 2 years.
_ga_* (Google Analytics) – maintains session state for our specific Google Analytics property. Lasts up to 2 years.

Advertising Measurement (only if you allow it)

_gcl_au (Google Ads) – stores information about the ad click that brought you to the site, so a later enquiry can be attributed to the right campaign. Lasts up to 90 days.
_gcl_* (Google Ads) – related conversion-attribution cookies set when you arrive from a Google ad. Last up to 90 days.

Advertising Personalization (only if you allow it)

When you allow this category, Google may use cookies and similar identifiers to add your device to advertising audiences, so that we can show you our ads on other websites and services. These identifiers are set and controlled by Google under its own policies, linked below.

Cookies in the optional categories are only set after you have allowed the matching category. If you have not allowed a category, the technologies it covers do not run.

Third-Party Services

The optional categories above are provided through services operated by Google LLC: Google Analytics for the analytics category, and Google Ads for the advertising categories. Google's handling of this data is described in its own documentation:

We use Google's Consent Mode, which means your choices on this site are passed to Google's tags as binding signals: a category you have not allowed is communicated to Google as denied, and the corresponding storage is not used.

Changing What You Allow

The primary way to manage cookies on this site is the privacy preferences dialog, which you can open at any time from the “Privacy preferences” link in the site footer, or right here:

Your browser also provides controls: most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies, either broadly or for specific sites. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies through your browser may prevent parts of the site from working, including your ability to stay signed in and our ability to remember the choices you have made here.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal. There is currently no settled industry standard for responding to these signals, and this site does not act on them; the consent controls described above are the authoritative record of your choices here.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when the cookies we use change – for example, when a new service is added or an old one is removed. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Where a change affects what you have already agreed to, we ask for your consent again rather than carrying your old answer forward.
